New SRT8 Owner Need Help?

Postby Damian on Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:56 pm

So I am extremely new to car mods. I got my 300SRT8 about 2 1/2 years ago. I have not really had the desire to mod my car to its potential. But... now I am about to hit that 60k miles mark and I have to replace/fix things anyways... So I figured if I am going to start replacing things why not do it with parts that matter.

Thats about it. Just looking for a deal on things that make me feel good about spending a fortune...

Welcome to the site and I think you will find lots of people that can help you to justify spending money on your car. We all suffer from that affliction!

How big are you thinking about going? A lot of it depends on what you think you might want to do with the car.
Take it to shows? the dragstrip? road courses? just want to turn heads? What's your goal? and then you can start figuring out what to get. Once you decide that, you can spend a few hundred or 10-20K building these mopars into their potential.

i agree with sean on this aswell. also consider if your daily driving as well. Like my self in my truck. i drive it to la from riverside everyday. but then again i hope thats gonna change with my future mods. im hoping to pick up a small pick up for work so i can finish doing what i want done.. But one think your gonna want... a Preadator programmer and a dyno tune. this can help you get the hp up and even get you a fuel econ mode to save gas. anyways welcome to the site glad to have you here.

Like everyone has said figure out your goals and go from there. I would recommend the basics. Cold Air Intake, 180 Thermostat exhaust and a can tune from the Diablo Predator. Marylandspeed has package deals on a lot of those products That will keep your but dyno in check for a bit :) Happy modding
